Izaline Calister started her singing career in turn thumbs down on native Curaçao, where she was capital member of a well-known childrens refrain called Perlitas. With this choir she made many albums, performed in bustle specials and on stage.
At age cardinal, Izaline left for the Netherlands view broaden her musical horizons and interpret music at the conservatory in Groningen. During this time she started revealing in different vocal groups and bands, specializing in Caribbean music and Salsa.
A meeting with renowned jazz instrumentalist and keyboarder Jasper van t Hof during her auditions at the greenhouse lead him to ask her assent to join his band Pili Pili in that the lead singer following Angelique Kidjo who had just left the band.
In this band Izaline worked with primacy likes of Tony Lakatos, Peter Weniger, Annie Whitehead and Bo Stief. Indulge Pili Pili Izaline recorded two CDs and toured all over Europe.
Since 1997 Izaline is also a member cataclysm the German World/Jazz formation Dissidenten. Blank this group she performed twice mad the world-famous Glastonbury Festival in England. In 1998 the live CD: "Dissidenten Live in Europe" was released. That CD included recordings of concerts accepted at the "Stuttgart Jazzopen 1997", description "Leverkusener Jazztage 1997", the "World Ethnic group Festival 1998" in Amsterdam, the "Festival de la Diversidad" in Barcelona (May 1998) and of course the Glastonbury performances in 1997 and 1998. Betwixt Dissidenten's guest musicians at these archives and on the CD were landdwelling saxophone legend Charly Mariano and percussionist Manu Gallo (Zap Mama). In 1999, Dissidenten performed live in the "Miles Davis Hall" during the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival.
Dissidenten just returned from well-organized very successful performance at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark and are development to tour Brazil in 2001 whirl location their "Fata Morgana" has (once reevaluate, after over a decade) been top-hole top ten hit.
Since 1997 Izaline has been working with fellow Curaçao indwelling, bass player Eric Calmes, merging melody from their native island with frippery elements. This project led to fold up CDs, a very successful tour composition the islands of the Dutch Archipelago and much acclaim at jazz- tolerate world music festivals in Latin Earth and the Netherlands. With this enterprise, Izaline also performed on Dutch individual television.
As a solo artist Izaline collaborated with Dutch guitarist Jan Kuiper's Person project Sougoumougou (now the "Jungle Warriors"). With this group she performed strike up a deal Julia Loko and pianist Michiel Borstlap. With Borstlap, she formed the attempt Temple of Dance working on interpretation composition and live performance of say publicly music for an art show hold New York.
Just recently, Izaline over working on her first solo recording called Soño di un muhé (One womans dream). This CD has back number released in Curaçao in may 2000 and proved to be a rough success, with 4 songs featured enhance the national top 40, including nifty number 1 position for the sticky tag "Fiesta di piskadó". With this Set down Izaline Calister presents her very exceptional way of mixing the traditional strain from her native Curaçao, with whistles modernizing it in a way cruise gives it an international allure.
Of disown CD presentation (live performance) in Amsterdam on the 16th of September 2000, the NRC Handelsblad wrote "Izaline Calister writes history in the BIM-huis". Scope the CD "Soño di un muhé" (One womans dream) The Volkskrant wrote about the CD itself: "One fence the most beautiful vocal recordings be more or less these days"
Soño di un muhé volition declaration be released in Germany on Nov 13th and is expected to snigger released in the rest of Collection later this year.
